On 20 September 2010, Novo Nordisk will be hosting a symposium, 'New perspectives of diabetes treatment across the continuum of care', at the European Society for the Study of Diabetes, where specialist speakers will be delighted to present and take part in on-stage discussions during the following sessions;
- 'Extrapancreatic effects of GLP-1' - this session will provide an introduction to incretin-based treatments as well as discussing neurological and cardiovascular effects in both preclinical and clinical studies.
- 'Clinical outcomes with incretin therapies' - this session will address the clinical aspects of the prevention of cardiovascular complication using GLP-1 as well as exploring the potential of incretin based therapies on cardiometabolic risk factors. The session will conclude by comparing GLP-1 and DPP-4 inhibitors in head-to-head studies.
- 'Insulin safety: Matters - Insulin therapy across diabetes sub-populations' - this final session will conclude the symposium by exploring insulin safety; the relationship between diabetes, insulin and IGF-1 receptors, as well as insulin therapy across diabetes sub-populations, particularly in paediatric, pregnant and elderly patients.
We hope that you can join us for what promises to be an interesting and engaging symposium. Please register here and we look forward to meeting you in Stockholm.
